EMDR tappers: Pulsators for tactile bilateral stimulation

A pulse in their hands. Your attention on them.

Use the Pulsators on their own for tactile bilateral stimulation, or together with the Light Tube for extra working memory taxation.

Present on both sides of the room

Your client feels a pulse in their hands: something tangible to hold on to during the sets. It gives you another way to help your client stay connected to the here and now. You create the right conditions, so your client can focus inward.

Hand the mechanics of bilateral stimulation to the Pulsators. What that frees up depends on which chair you’re in.

For you:

Your attention stays on your client
No counting passes, no holding your hand at the right height. We handle the rhythm, so you see everything that happens in your client.

A rhythm that never drifts
You run set twenty at exactly the speed of set one, without drift or fatigue. You stay calm and steady, and your clients can lean on that.

A career’s worth of sessions
No holding your arm up, set after set. Less physical strain, and more left of you at the end of the day.

For your clients:

Something to hold on to
A pulse they can feel in their own hands, something tangible during the sets.

Room between you
You can sit at a respectful distance while the rhythm stays in their hands.

Room to turn inward
Your client can focus on their own process instead of watching your hand and face.

Wireless or Classic EMDR tappers

Yes. Pulsators are EMDR Kit’s tappers. Therapists also call them buzzers, buzzies or pulsers. Your client holds one in each hand, and they give alternating vibrations in the left and right hand for tactile bilateral stimulation.

  • Your client would rather close their eyes during the sets.
  • Following a light is tiring or uncomfortable for your client.

  • You want extra working memory taxation: combine the Pulsators with the Light Tube, and add headphones if you like.
  • You want a visual option without a Light Tube: the LEDs on the Wireless Pulsators can blink.

Yes. The Wireless Pulsators connect by Bluetooth to the EMDR Kit app, where you set speed and intensity. Their LED lights can blink, so they also work as a visual stimulus. The Classic Pulsators connect directly to the EMDR Kit Classic controller instead.
